Johnny Thorsen is the “VP for Global Travel Strategy and Partnerships” for Mezi, the Silicon Valley based start-up focusing on the development and delivery of the industry’s first “AI for Travel as a Service” platform.
Before joining Mezi, Johnny was the Senior Director for Value Services for SAP Mobile Services based in Silicon Valley focusing on the creation of new cloud-based enterprise solutions based on current and future mobile technologies. Prior to joining SAP Mobile Services Johnny was the global product and strategy owner for Concur Risk Messaging after Concur acquired conTgo Ltd in March 2013. Johnny spent 6 years as the co-founder and CEO of conTgo focusing on “point of experience” and “duty of care” mobile travel services for corporate travel and security management.
Prior to launching conTgo Johnny held senior positions in the travel technology industry with major players such as Travelport, Sabre, GetThere, HRG and CWT –while being based in England, Australia and Norway in addition to his native Denmark. In 2010 Business Travel News named Johnny Thorsen one of the 25 most influential people in the business travel industry.
Johnny serves as a strategic advisor for multiple tech start-ups including Stabilitas, Winding Tree, Gaest and MySafeTravel.
